Tips For The First-Time India Travelers

India is one of the countries that are rich in culture and tradition. If it is your first time to visit India, then you must prepare yourself for the possible culture shock that you may experience in the city. Keep in mind that the tradition, culture and the beliefs in this city is quite different from yours so you must keep these tips in mind.

·         Visit smaller villages.
The best way to get to really know India is to visit the smaller villages. The benefit of going down the road less traveled is that it allows you to get out of the overcrowded and sprawling cities. When you go out of the city, you will be able to clear your head and you can be able to fully enjoy and discover the untouched culture and tradition of the country. The smaller villages are also the best places to enjoy the hospitality of the Indian urbanities.

·         Don’t cherish your personal space too much.
The concept of personal space is not a common concept in India. Since the space in this country is quite limited, expect that you will be squished during public transportation and expect that you will have to squeeze yourself in between the big crowds before you can fully enjoy the amazing destinations. Because of this, you have to let go of the personal space that you are treasuring if you wish to make the most out of your trip to India.

·         Dress conservatively.
This is one of the best tips that you should keep in mind when traveling to India. The culture in India is relatively modest and the best way to respect their culture is by avoiding in showing off your arms and legs.

·         Keep yourself safe.
Of course, one of the things that you have to keep in mind is that you should avoid walking down the streets alone at night. That is one of the most obvious tip but there are also some ways on how you can avoid possible dangers in this city. For one, you must avoid carrying huge amounts of cash wherever you go as this will surely attract thieves. Keep in mind that pickpocketing is quite rampant in this country. In addition to this, you must always be respectful and polite when talking to the locals.

There are many places to visit, food to enjoy and Indian festivals to join in. If you wish to make the most out of what India has to offer you, then you have to keep in mind the tips mentioned above. Those tips will allow you to enjoy India in all its finest!

Common Travel Disorders and How to cope with it

Getting sick during your most awaited vacation is really a bummer. How are you supposed to enjoy if you’re not feeling well at all. What’s the worst part? Your appearance in pictures will obviously reflect that you are having a discomfort. We cannot really avoid acquiring illness and sometimes it strikes in the moment where we least expect it. The important thing is how to recover from and not ruin your entire vacation.

Jet Lag. Long haul travel from cities with different time zone is really exhausting. In order to regain your spirit after an 8 hour flight, try to get some sleep as much as you can. Rest those eyes in a very dim room. It will also help if you set your watch on the latest time zone so that you’ll feel more oriented. Drink lots of water to keep you hydrated.

Motion Sickness. If you know that you ahead of time that you had a great deal of motion sickness, then you better take precautions immediately. Anti-motion sickness medication really helps a lot. Take a tablet the night before you travel to help you in achieving that deep relaxing sleep. And, take another tablet 1 hour before you hit the road. In case you forgot to take necessary medications, try to seat near the driver or window. Focus only your vision in one direction.

Loose Bowel. Avoid foods that can cause irritation to your digestive tract such as dairy products and spicy foods. Make sure you empty your bowel before you purse your travel. Coffee, tea, and alcoholic drinks can unexpectedly cause your stomach to rumble. It might be difficult to find a decent toilet when you are travelling. Once the first sign of loose bowel movement appear, take a tablet of anti-motility and expect its efficacy after an hour.

Constipation. It’s a common problem that our bowel pattern is being altered whenever we are not in the comforts of our own home. But we hate the feeling of constipation and even being bloated. How are we supposed to enjoy that spicy Korean ramen noodle if we hadn’t used the toilet for 2 days now? Don’t dare to take laxatives at this point since you will ruin your vacation. A very warm coffee in the morning after a heavy breakfast and exercise can help bring the action of your digestive juices. Don’t forget to drink lots of water.

Tension Headache. Though it’s not as worse as a migraine, but it’s discomforting enough to prevent you from having fun. Not being able to sleep comfortably during the trip, unpleasant odors, tiny noises, and insufficient ventilation are common causes of tension headache. Take that pain killer immediately and try to get a nap when you reach your accommodation.

Allergy. If you have asthma or just allergic to all sorts of things, make sure that you bring your inhaler or any medication for your allergy. The last thing you want is not being able to take your photo in the Eiffel tower because your airway is too congested to go out.

The Ultimate Travel Mistakes You Have Made at One Point

Traveling is a learning curve. You do not always get things right the first time. In fact, you will have to encounter many mishaps first before you can really get a hang of traveling. Whether you like it or not, mistakes are an inevitable part of traveling and there plenty of mistakes that you can do along the way. In fact, here are some of the most common mistakes that travelers do:

·         Packing too much stuff
I think all travelers have fallen a victim to this very common travel crime. After packing all the stuff you think you need, you lift up your luggage and you are surprised to find out that it is quite light so it makes you think—is there something else that I’m missing? To make sure, you decided to bring an extra pair of clothes, an extra of this, an extra of that. And before you know it, your bag is already too full and it is impossible for you to close it. What’s worse is that you were able to reach the airport before you realize that you overpacked and as a result, your luggage has been subjected to overbaggage fee. In addition to that, you have to suffer the entire trip because you have to carry a heavy luggage from one place to the other.

·         Booking a cheap (but super early) flight
Anyone who is in a budget has done this. You may think that waking up extra hours earlier for a cheap flight is worth it. Well, it isn’t. This is because the lack of sleep will certainly ruin your first day. For sure, you will be knackered during your first day of the trip because you were not able to sleep the night before. Now, that is a waste of time and extra day for hotel accommodation, don’t you think?

·         Making brave menu decisions
We are all quite brave and the go-getters when we are on a trip. You are in a  foreign land so why don’t you jump off that cliff? No one knows who you are so why not dance naked on the bar and of course, you are in an exotic place, why are you going to order something safe? So you did and sometimes, you are thankful you made that decision but sometimes, it leads to something you regret later on.

There are many things that travel teaches us but it is impossible for us to learn all of these lessons without committing a mistake. It is true that most travelers are prone to making the mistakes mentioned above but it is also through these mistakes that they were able to learn their lessons.

Not to mention, this country prides itself for Palawan’s Underground River which is on the top 7 wonders of the natural world.

This continent will surely give your palate a whole new taste experience of gastronomic proportions. Some of Asian countries were known to be the main suppliers of spices around the world. And with various ingredients readily available, be prepared with the explosions of flavors inside your oral cavity. If you are fond of flavorful dishes, make sure you try some paratha and curry made from India. The paratha is similar to a tortilla wrap but softer and chewier. You can fill it with a curry of your choice; beef, chicken or fish. Another must try during a rainy weather is Laksa, a spicy noodle soup claimed to be originated from Singapore, but you can also feast on this tasty noodle when you are in Malaysia and China.

Asia is also a platform of different tribes and religious practices as evidenced by infrastructure of temples and churches way back to the dark ages. The Angkor Wat, Tian Tan Buddha, Jokhang Temple, and Taj Mahal are some of the majestic historical sites in Asia that makes you wonder if how such architectures were built in the years were electricity was even non-existing.

Travelling gives us an opportunity to unwind and gain extraordinary experiences. Not most of us are blessed with the time and money to travel. But, if you would be given an opportunity, make sure you visit a place that will give you knowledge and awareness, not only sunburn and drained debit card.
